In her 13 years of service, Vivienne has been an excellent example
of energy, passion and expertise in her pursuit to help an extensive
range of people. This she has achieved through her professional clinical
work, numerous training workshops that she has conducted, mentoring
of subordinates as well as her own personal involvement in community
work. Vivienne is also admired for her open-mindedness, integrity
and determination to excel under trying conditions.
A key area of clinical expertise has been in working with victims
of trauma, disasters and in training other professionals in this area
of work. She was instrumental in initiating many treatment groups
for victims of abuse as well as in leading two teams of officers in
providing such services. Vivienne was a member and deputy leader of
the teams that travelled to Taipei (for the SQ 006 crash) and Phuket
(recent Tsunami disaster) respectively, to provide critical psychological
support for the relatives and victims as well as for the staff of
the other agencies involved in managing the critical incident.

Philomena Pilatu Nicholas
Payment and Revenue Section/FFD
As a Senior Finance Officer in Payment & Revenue Unit, Philos
job responsibilities include processing of payments and journals for
five divisions/units in MCYS, handling payroll reports, processing
of casual staff wages and managing MCYS HQ miscellaneous deposits
account.
Having been in the service for over 25 years, Philo has accumulated
a wealth of experience in the area of finance which she would not
hesitate to share with her colleagues/supervisor. She often provides
close guidance and will unhesitatingly extend assistance to her co-workers.
She also provides sound advice to her supervisor when her input is
required. Based on divisions feedback, she has provided excellent
customer service. Her responsiveness in meeting customers requests
has often earned compliments from customers who deal with her.

Kavitha Devi d/o Vasudevan Nair
Residential and Aftercare Services Branch/RPD
Mdm Kavitha Devi has worked in Toa Payoh Girls Home for
more than ten years. As a Corporate Staff Officer, she performs a
broad range of administrative and financial duties effectively and
efficiently with minimum supervision.
Kavitha does her work well and often gives high quality output, sometimes
within short deadlines set. What is especially remarkable and commendable
about Kavitha is not merely the quality but also the sheer volume
and type of work she does single-handedly with minimum fuss. She is
prompt in providing accurate statistics to the Headquarters for analysis
on profile of the residents and trends in juvenile delinquency. She
also offers ideas to improve service quality. Her commitment, efficiency
and high sense of responsibility in work have won her the respect
of staff working with her.

Nam Sook Meng
Residential and Aftercare Services Branch/RPD
Mdm Lam has worked as a Senior Houseparent in Toa Payoh Girls
Home for the past 15 years, overseeing the daily schedule for the
residents, maintaining the cleanliness of the dormitories, as well
as assisting the residents in their rehabilitative programmes and
plans for their reintegration into the family and community.
Her leadership qualities were proven when she was appointed as senior
housemother to lead a team of staff to oversee the general well being
of the residents. She relates well with both staff and residents in
the Home and is well liked by them. Mdm Lam has proven to be capable,
dependable and a highly responsible officer who consistently contributes
to the effectiveness of the rehabilitation programmes with her efficiency
and integrity.

award. Working in ITD has been fulfilling and enriching. I have picked
