Report of the Social Enterprise Committee
 
The Social Enterprise Committee was formed in August 2006 to look into ways to grow the social enterprise sector and encourage social entrepreneurship in Singapore. It also explored ways to encourage more commercial enterprises to be Socially Responsible Enterprises and employ needy disadvantaged jobseekers.
 
The Social Enterprise Committee comprised representatives from the people, private, and public sectors. It released its report in late 2007. The report contained recommendations in the following three areas:
  1. Encouraging socially responsible enterprises;
  2. Building a pro-social enterprise environment; and
  3. Creating a culture of social entrepreneurship
