Volunteers enjoying a video specially
put together for the evening
They had bonded
through the sewing of the Fabric of the Nation patchwork tapestry.
On 13 October 2003, more than 90 volunteers came together to enjoy
an appreciation dinner at the MCDS Community Hall with Dr
Yaacob Ibrahim and Mr Chan Soo Sen.
The volunteers were treated to special
screening of bloopers cut from the rushes of the programme,
`The Making of the Fabric of The Nation'. In his speech, Dr
Yaacob thanked the volunteers for their dedication and hard
work. He also announced, to the guests' applause, that the
panels would be unveiled in their full splendour for all to
see come April 2004. At the end of the evening, the volunteers
were also presented with souvenirs in appreciation of their
participation in this meaningful project.
