Kindergarten education helps your child prepare for primary school. If you want to place your child in a nursery or kindergarten programme, but cannot afford the fees, you may apply for help under KiFAS. KiFAS is available at eligible non-profit kindergartens.
KiFAS provides a subsidy for your child's kindergarten fee every month, up to the maximum amount shown in the table below.
Current Maximum KiFAS subsidies:
| Monthly Household Income | Maximum KiFAS subsidy per month for each child | |
| Less than or equal to $1,000 | Kindergarten | Up to $98 |
| Nursery | Up to $75 | |
| $1,001-$1,500 | Kindergarten | Up to $95 |
| Nursery | Up to $75 | |
| $1,501 - $1,800 | Kindergarten | Up to $90 |

For very needy families earning $1,000 or less, a start-up grant of up to $200 per child may be provided, to help them pay for their child's deposit, registration fee, uniforms and insurance at the beginning of the year.
Check if KiFAS is available at your child's kindergarten. If it is, apply for KiFAS at the kindergarten.
