| Kindergarten education helps your child prepare for primary school. If you want to place your child in a nursery of kindergarten programme, but cannot afford the fees, you may apply for help under KiFAS. KiFAS is available at eligible non-profit kindergartens. |

| For example, |
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,500 and below, if the child's kindergarten fee is $90 per month, the KiFAS subsidy is $81 (90% of $90) and parents pay the remaining $9.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,500 and below, if the child's kindergarten fee is $100 per month, the maximum subsidy is $82 every month. Parents need to pay the remaining $18.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,501-$1,800, if the child's kindergarten fee is $90 per month, the KiFAS subsidy is $63 (70 percent of $90) and parents pay the remaining $27.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,501-$1,800, if the child's kindergarten fee is $100 per month, the maximum KIFAS subsidy for kindergarten is $65 every month, and parents pay the remaining $35.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,500 and below, if the child's nursery fee is $70 per month, the KiFAS subsidy is $63 (90% of $70), and parents pay the remaining $7.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,500 and below, if the child's nursery fee is $80 per month, the maximum KiFAS subsidy for nursery is $65 every month, and parents pay the remaining $15.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,501-$1,800, if the child's nursery fee is $70 per month, the KiFAS subsidy is $49 (70 percent of $70), and parents pay the remaining $21.
- For families that earn a monthly income of $1,501-$1,800, if the child's nursery fee is $80 per month, the the maximum KIFAS subsidy for nursery is $51 every month, and parents pay the remaining $29.

| Start-up Grant |
| |
| For very needy families earning $1,000 or less, a start-up grant of up to $200 per child may be provided, to help them pay for their child's deposit, registration fee, uniforms and insurance at the beginning of the year. |

| Who Can Apply |
- Children who are Singapore citizens. Children who are permanent residents of Singapore (PR) can apply if at least one member of their immediate family is a Singapore citizen;
- Children attending a nursery programme (at least 2 hours long), or a K1 or K2 programme (at least 3 hours long) in an eligible non-profit kindergarten; and
- Children whose family's monthly household income is $1,800 or below can apply.
