Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA)

Student Care Centres (SCCs) provide before- or after-school care for children aged 7 to 14. If you need to put your child in a student care centre but cannot afford the fees, you may apply for help under SCFA.

SCFA is also available to children with disabilities in Special Student Care Centres. For more information on this service, please refer to http://www.cel.sg/ServicesDisabilityPages23.aspx

What SCFA Provides

SCFA subsidises your child's student care fees. The amount of subsidy will depend on the type of Student Care Centre your child attends and your household income, as shown in the table below:

Monthly Household Income Monthly Subsidy (Regular SCCs) Monthly subsidy (Special SCCs)
Less than or equal to $1,500 $180 $379
$1,501 - $2,000 $120 $256
$2,001 - $2,500 $60 $133

Who Can Apply

  • The child must be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident of Singapore (PR). If the child is a PR, then at least one immediate family member of the child must be a Singapore citizen;
  • The child is between 7 and 14 years of age and is attending a MOE-registered school;
  • The mother/single father is working full-time or part-time regularly; and
  • The family's monthly household income is $2,500 or below.

Your application will be assessed to determine if you qualify for the scheme.

Where to Apply

Check if SCFA is available at your child's Student Care Centre. If it is, apply for SCFA at the Student Care Centre.
